City hall has put an end to the Occupy Regina protest in Victoria Park.

Police moved in just after 11 p.m. last night to evict protesters who had been camping in the park for more than a month. Two people who remained at the Occupy site were issued tickets.

City crews removed the tents a few hours later. Security guards are monitoring the vacant park.

At a news conference Wednesday, city manager Glen Davies said he gave the order to clear the park under the existing 11 p.m. public curfew. He said the curfew will also apply to the new City Square plaza.
