A new report shows it was tougher to find an apartment in Regina in October, while tenants shelled out more for rent.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. says the vacancy rate in the city was the lowest in the country at 0.6 per cent. That's down from one per cent a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the average rent for a two-bedroom apartment rose $50 to $932.

Saskatchewan's 1.9 per cent vacancy rate was the third lowest among the provinces, behind Manitoba and Newfoundland and Labrador.
