Firefighters have stopped a natural gas leak caused by a hit-and-run crash at a condominium development under construction in Regina's west end.

SaskEnergy spokesman Dave Burdeniuk says the leak, which happened in the 1400 block of McCarthy Boulevard, was reported around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The gas was venting from a damaged meter at the construction site.

Burdeniuk says no one was around when fire crews arrived at the scene and shut the gas off.

No one was evacuated and no injuries were reported.
