Anti-nuclear activists from across the province gathered in Saskatoon Saturday afternoon.

At the Oskayak High School, a number of people spoke out against the prospect of Saskatchewan becoming a site for nuclear waste.

The activists say a number of Saskatchewan communities are in negotiations with the nuclear waste management organization.

The activists have a petition asking the government to ban the storage and transportation of nuclear waste in the province.

Byran Lee is the president of the Metis local 108. He hopes the province involves Saskatchewan residents before making a decision. "Ask us as citizens, as the voting public, would we vote to have a facility or not have a facility? We need to challenge the government to do that."
